Steven McNellie, a VR enthusiast and filmmaker, had a problem: how to get crisp audio on his Insta360 X3 camera. So he dreamed up his ideal solution and brought early designs of the Xmount360 to mechanical engineer Martin Reaves.

Martin Reaves used his experience as an electronic product designer to engineer the Xmount360 to the max. He started with the best materials and manufacturing processes, and then designed the mount to exceed expectations in the field.
